DNS Server Might Be Unavailable || try running windows network diagnostics


ISSUES:

  •  HOW TO FIX DNS SERVER MIGHT BE UNAVAILABLE

SOLUTIONS:-

There are Five important solutions that are very popular to fix this issue

 Solution 1 – Restart  Router:-

The first solution is just to unplug and reconnect the router cable or press the router reset button. This is the easiest troubleshoot solution to perform when dealing with DNS errors. 

Solution 2 – Flush the DNS:-

Just follow the steps:

  1. Go to your Start Menu.
  2. Now open Run Command By pressing Windows key + R.

  1. On the Run box that will be displayed type cmd.exe and click on OK.
  2. Then, on the cmd window enter the following commands (type enter after each one): 
ipconfig /flushdns”; 
ipconfig /release”; 
ipconfig /renew”;
and then 
 “exit”.


That’s it; you now know how to easily fix the Windows ‘Your DNS server might be unavailable’ error.

Solution 3 –  Use Netsh command:-

If you’re getting Your DNS Server Might be Unavailable message frequently, you might be able to solve the problem simply by using the Netsh command.
This is rather simple, and you can do it by following these steps:

  1. Press Windows Key + X to open Win + X menu. select PowerShell (Admin).

  2. When Command Prompt opens, enter Netsh int IP reset. Press Enter to run the command.


Solution 4– Make sure that DNS is automatically obtained

follow these steps to obtained DNS automatically :
  • Goto wifi and Select Network & internet settings.

  • select wifi and at sidebar select change adapter options


Now select your wireless and click on properties. A dialog Box appears then select (TCP/Ipv4) And press ok.





  • Select Obtain DNS server address automatically and click OK.




  1. Select Obtain DNS server address automatically and click the OK button to save changes.
After setting the DNS server address to obtain automatically, the problem should be resolved.

Solution 5 – Use OpenDNS:- 


If you’re getting Your DNS Server Might be Unavailable message, you might be able to fix it simply by setting your DNS manually. To do that, you need to follow these steps:

  • Follow 1-4 steps from solution 4...
  • Select Use the following DNS server addresses. Now enter 8.8.8.8 as the Preferred DNS server and 8.8.4.4 as the Alternate DNS server.  Now click OK to save changes.


    • NOTE :
    With all these solutions You are able to fix the following problems
  •  DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN
  • DNS server IP address could not be found
  • DNS server is not responding
  • DNS server may be unavailable
